Andrew Santos

Director of Diversity & Inclusion

Andrew (he/him/his) is a physics PhD candidate at École Polytechnique in France where he was a 2020-21 Fulbrighter with the Leprince-Ringuet Laboratory. With the support of the Beering Scholarship at Purdue University, he completed a physics degree in 2020 and then went on to obtain a Master’s in High Energy Physics from the Institut Polytechnique de Paris. Andrew has been committed to making science more accessible through initiatives that bring together various combinations of peers, university faculty, high school students, particle physicists, and the general public. He is a proud Filipino-American and enthusiast of frogs and neutrinos.

Eryn Sale

Director of Applicant Support

Eryn (she/her/hers) is a graduate student at UT Southwestern Medical Center, working towards a PhD in Computational Neuroscience. A Hoosier at heart, she completed her undergraduate degree at Purdue University in Neurobiology and Genetics. She conducted neuroscience research in Norway on a Fulbright Fellowship in 2021 prior to graduate school.  When not in lab, she is a coffee-addicted, plant and bird enthusiast.

Kevin Morris

Evaluation & Development Coordinator

Kevin (he/him/his) is a Marshall Scholar at King’s College London, where he is reading for a MA in Conflict Resolution in Divided Societies with a research focus on memory politics, ethno-nationalism, and civil society. As a Marshall Scholar, Kevin previously completed a MSc in History of International Relations at the London School of Economics and Political Science. He is also an alumnus of the Fulbright Program, where he received a U.S. Student Award to spend a year teaching and leading civic engagement programming in the Republic of North Macedonia. Kevin is a proud Georgia Peach and enjoys running, photography, and dismantling imposter syndrome. 

Klaudia Jaźwińska

Director of Internal Communications

Klaudia (she/her/hers) is a journalist and researcher who currently works at Princeton University’s Center for Information Technology Policy, in her home state of New Jersey. She recently completed an MSc in Data and Society at the London School of Economics, her second of two masters degrees funded in the United Kingdom by the Marshall Scholarship. Klaudia is a first-generation college graduate and second-generation immigrant who enjoys travel, films, and food fermentation projects.

Maggie Hilderbran

Director of Scholarship Resources

Maggie (she/her/hers) is a Research Fellow (Computational Science) at the Regulation, Evaluation, and Governance Lab at Stanford Law School. Born and raised in North Carolina, she earned her undergraduate degree in Physics and Religious Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Through the Marshall Scholarship, she completed an MSc in Science and Religion at the University of Edinburgh and an MSc in Political Sociology at the London School of Economics and Political Science. When she’s not working, Maggie enjoys running, hiking, and listening to bluegrass music. She is excited to work on resources for competitive scholarship applicants as part of the FWD: Scholars team!

Morgan King

Director of Research & Outreach

Morgan (she/her/hers) is a climate organizer in her hometown at the West Virginia Rivers Coalition. As a Marshall Scholar, she completed an MPhil in Public Policy from the University of Cambridge and an MSc in Environmental Systems Engineering from University College London. In 2018, she won a Fulbright Scholarship to Spain, where she introduced Model United Nations and the Sustainable Development Goals to high schoolers. She holds a BS in Civil Engineering from West Virginia University. In her free time, she enjoys hiking with her dog and reading with her cat.

Mitchell Demerly

Director of Project Management

Mitchell (he/him/his) graduated from Purdue University in 2021 with degrees in computer science and economics. After graduating, Mitchell moved to Cincinnati, Ohio to join Fifth Third Bank’s Consumer Leadership Program. He currently works at the Bank as a Senior Business Analyst, where he focuses on strategy, data analytics, and process optimization. Mitchell serves on Purdue’s Student Life Young Alumni Advisory Board and is excited to continue making an impact in higher education through his work with FWD: Scholars. In his free time, he enjoys reading and running.

Shagun Gupta

Director of External Communications

Shagun (she/her/hers) is a PhD Candidate at the School of International Service, American University. Originally from India, she lived and worked in Southeast Asia for four years before returning to academia. She holds a MSc in Global Governance and Diplomacy from the University of Oxford and a BA in Political Science from the University of Delhi. She is passionate about bridging the gap in access to educational funding opportunities, especially for students from low-income or minority backgrounds. Currently, she lives in Washington D.C. and can be found chasing bugs with her camera.
